The healing magic of 'Forest Bathing'

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Getting out of your own head, slowing down, being present and disconnecting from technology; these are some of the core principles of "Forest Bathing."

Author Julia Plevin discusses these principles in her new book, The Healing Magic of Forest Bathing: Finding Calm, Creativity, and Connection in the Natural World. She talks about how spending intentional time in nature increases health and well-being for people all around the world. 

Plevin says she started 'Forest Bathing' when moving too quickly in her day-to-day life caused her to miss simple yet beautiful things around her. Recent studies say it is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety as well as a way to spark creativity. 

Plevin stopped by News 8 to talk about how "Forest Bathing" originally started, and she gave some tips on how you can get started yourself!
