URBAN to Suburban: Gardening Within Your Space

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) – Join San Diego's biggest one-day garden education event, designed for home gardeners. Whether you are a beginning gardener or a seasoned grower, there are sessions for you! On Saturday, March 16th, learn how to garden from fruits to vegetables to plants as well as the importance of drought tolerant landscapes!

The event includes classes from soil, photography, propagating plants, bird houses and different types of plants, according to Lucy Warren from Master Gardener. 

You can also learn how beekeeping and the garden practices that help attract and protect these super pollinators who are responsible for a third of all the food we eat. Hilary Kearny, from Girl Next Door Honey, is one of a growing number of young beekeepers working to educate people across the country about the importance of protecting the hard-working bees that are responsible for a third of all the food we eat. She will discuss the fascinating world of bees and how you can support them in your own backyard with beekeeping, insect hotels and gardening practices.
