BIG BEAR, Calif. (NEWS 8) - A bald eagle in California's Big Bear Valley laid a second egg at a nest where a live webcam is placed.
It was laid Saturday, March 9 at approximately 5:25 p.m., the first egg was laid on Wednesday, March 6. The nest in the Fawnskin area is about 120 feet in the air near the top of a Jeffrey pine.
Forest Service officials say if all goes well, the hatchling should appear around April 10, following a 35-day incubation period.
Bald eagles migrate each winter to several spots in the San Bernardino and San Jacinto mountains, including Big Bear Lake.
Currently, a live stream is capturing the incubation process of the two parent eagles. The Friends of Big Bear Valley operates the webcam.
