SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Ten-time X Games Gold Medalist and 4-time US Olympian, Lindsey Jacobellis hosts Supergirl Snow Pro, the only all female snowboarding competition in the world March 8-10, at Bear Mountain.
Designed to showcase the best female snowboarders on the planet, Supergirl Snow Pro also serves as a developmental contest to help locate, nurture, mentor and encourage the next generation of aspiring female riders, as young as 8 years old.
Top-level boardercross (SBX) and big air competition, featuring the world’s top female pros alongside up-and-coming amateur talent.
New this year, is the High-Flying Big Air competition added Sunday, March 10 with an innovative head-to-head, round robin, bracket style competition, and on Friday, there will be a Free Snowboarding Clinic, March 8, from 12-3 p.m. with the US Olympic Team members to support International Women’s Day, plus a $55 discounted lift ticket to any female signing up for the clinic.
In addition to the competitions, the event features live concerts by Radio Disney: Samantha Ronson’s band, Ocean Park Standoff on Saturday; and Meg Donnelly on Sunday; female DJ Malcolm Brown performing throughout the weekend, plus a vendor village, workshops, autograph sessions, giveaways and more.
