Celebrating Fat Tuesday the Polish way with Paczki

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Fat Tuesday is upon us which means many Paczki will be eaten.

Paczki are deep-fried pieces of dough shaped into flattened spheres and filled with confiture or other sweet filling. They are usually covered with powdered sugar, icing, glaze or bits of dried orange zest.

Paczki look similar to jelly donuts, however they are made from especially rich dough containing eggs, fats, sugar, yeast and sometimes milk.

Victoria Kanevsky from Continent European Deli stopped by Morning Extra to show Jenny how to make these Polish delicacies.
