Lessons in love and dating from a sexologist & a terrible dater

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - What is the worst dating advice you have ever been given? Many people are constantly bombarded with bad or simply wrong dating advice.

It doesn’t have to be like that!

Sociologist and sexologist Dr. Jenn Gunsaullus gave a few pieces of advice for daters and for couples.

For daters:
1. Be a good conversationalist! This means balancing asking genuine questions and sharing about yourself. Don’t just share stories about yourself!
2. Remember that sexual activity clouds whether the person is a good match for you!
3. Ask yourself if you are comfortable being yourself with this person?

For couples:
1. Difficulty in discussing and addressing mismatched desire levels
2. Feeling loved the way you want/need to feel loved
3. Focusing on strengths and appreciations, instead of only the negative

Dr. Jenn Gunsaullus and author Sabrina Must joined Morning Extra to talk about some of the bad dating experiences and to give some positive dating advice that people can use in their everyday lives.

Want to hear more hilarious bad date stories? Sabrina Must will be at iFly in San Diego on February 28th from 7-9 p.m. for a book signing. You can meet Sabrina, mingle with other people and even enter in to win a raffle with some awesome prizes. Best of all.. It is free admission!
