SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - What were you doing when you were ages 12-14? Shooting hoops? Playing with dolls?

Not 14-year-old Kenan Pala. He is the founder of Kids4Community. The volunteer run organization funds programs for the homeless and education. Kenan and his hundreds of volunteer have just passed the $500,000 donation mark in just two years!

He isn’t stopping there. On December 8th there is an event called Bags of Hope where volunteers will fill 1,000 backpacks with essential supplies. Some of the items include, toys, hygiene supplies, blankets and socks.

If you and your family would like to participate in the event, you can sign up to volunteer here

Kids4Community stresses bringing your children no matter what their ages are when you volunteer so they can learn at a young age how important it is.
