U.S. Bank in Mission Valley robbed

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) – The search continues Saturday for the man suspected of holding up a U.S. Bank in Mission Valley at gunpoint.

Officers descended on the area in force Friday evening due to the reported gunfire and cordoned off part of the commercial area surrounding the bank. A SWAT team moved through the bank building and other nearby structures in search of the robber, who continues to be at large, according to authorities.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20's. He was described as wearing a black sweatshirt, black baseball cap, black pants, black gloves and a bandana over his face. He was also possibly had a tan backpack.

It is believed he was armed with a handgun.

Patrick Dunn works at Mortgage Company, located inside the U.S. Bank building. He was kept inside the office until an all clear was given. While inside, he said he took precautions. “What we heard were the SWAT team outside our windows. Obviously safety first. We know that we made sure that the doors were all locked.”
