Instant Family aiming to be an instant success

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Instant Family shares the story of a married couple, played by Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne. They decide to start a family through fostering and take in three siblings with three very different personalities. Director and writer, Sean Anders, based the movie on his own life. Anders and his wife adopted three children from the foster system and realized their stories matched up with many stories from other foster families.

Isabel Moner, who plays Lizzy in the film, sat down with Morning Extra Monday morning to talk about the movie. Moner plays the argumentative teenager in the movie and noted this story brings to light the struggles of foster children.

Anders said a goal for this film was to show the truth behind what happens in the foster and adoption process. He even wanted those involved to be completely invested as well, which is why he chose Walhberg and Byrne to play the roles of the parents. They were both invested from the beginning with Byrne interviewing foster moms after receiving the role so she could properly play her part.

The film is coming to theaters nationwide Friday, November. 16.
