Thanksgiving Critter Camp at Helen Woodward Animal Center

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Kids in San Diego can spend Thanksgiving break with animals at Critter Camp!

Thanksgiving Critter Camp at Helen Woodward Animal Center will be held November 19th-21st, daily camp times are as follows: 

  • Preschool (must be at least 4 years old): 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
  • Kindergarten through 6th Grade: 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Each day also includes a craft, awesome activities, fun games and the chance to create new memories and form new friendships! 

  • Monday, November 19 – The family fun has just begun!
    • Discover what family means to animals when you interact with a miniature horse, rabbit, parrot, bearded dragon and Vietnamese walking stick.
  • Tuesday, November 20 – Your heart will grow the more you know.
    • Meet an alpaca, dog, pigeon, blue-tongued skink and cockroach while you learn about the various reasons we should appreciate all animals, not just the soft and cuddly ones!
  • Wednesday, November 21 – Gobble ‘til you wobble!
    • How do the seasons affect what critters consume, and how are their eating habits unique? Find out when you meet a sheep, guinea pig, chicken, millipede and snake.

    Daily Thanksgiving camp rates: 

    • Preschool (must be at least 4 years old): $58 per day, 

    • Kindergarten through 6th Grade: $73 per day

    We know that camp sounds fun for kids AND adults, but this camp for kids only!
