SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Ms. Smarty-Plants stopped by the News 8 studios Monday and got a little batty as she discussed some upcoming Halloween and autumn celebrations.

An integral part of her events are her creepy, crawly friends, which she brought along with her Monday morning. Ms. Smarty-Plants friends included a scorpion, Bubba the Toad and Furry the Tarantula.

You can learn about how these animals contribute to our ecosystem on Halloween from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Grossmont Center, during Halloween event for children of all ages, featuring Ms. Smarty-Plants. Her show will start 4:30 p.m. and she will share how certain animals contribute to the ecosystem, like the critters featured during her Morning Extra segment. The event is free and will offer activities for kids of all ages.

Ms. Smarty Plants will also be at the Water Conservation Garden Autumn Fest and Plant Sale on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m.to 3 p.m. This event will feature the three creepy crawlies we got to see in the studio on Monday along with 50 other animal friends. Ms. Smarty-Plants will also be in the dunk tank on Saturday to raise money for water conservation.

This is event is free for members of the Water Conservation Garden and $5 for community members. The Autumn Fest will feature not only Ms. Smarty-Plants but vendors, entertainment, and workshops too. For more information on tickets and events visit the Water Conservation Garden website.
