Spring Valley Tailgate & BBQ Festival raises money for local youth charities

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Cali Comfort BBQ and Valley Farm Market stopped by News 8 Morning Extra with a preview of the food that will be available at the Spring Valley Tailgate and BBQ Festival being help October 28.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. amateur BBQ competitions will be taking place and guests will be snacking on a variety of dishes. The goal of this event is to raise money for local youth charities, and this year they are partnering with the Marso Walchef Youth Empowerment Organization. As long as your team has never competed in a professional cooking contest are eligible to compete and are encouraged to sign up.

This is an all day event that is open for the whole family. The event is free and testers are $2 each, which raises money for the chosen charity. A variety of teams will be there, including a team made up of players from the San Diego Gulls hockey team.
