SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) – The fourth and final season of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” premiers Friday night on the CW San Diego.

News 8’s Marcella Lee recently sat down with the star and co-creator of the musical comedy drama to talk about the show’s success since that very first episode three years ago.

For the past three season, fans of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” have flowed the twists and turns of Rebecca Bunch’s life as she chases after happiness.

What has made Rebecca Bunch so relatable? Her life has been filled with inner demons, challenging relationships and plenty of excuses.

Now, the critically acclaimed musical drama-comedy is preparing for the final curtain call.

“When we planned out the series, we wanted to explore all the facets of being a crazy ex. We are in the fourth stage which is recovery and renewal,” said co-creator and star, Rachel Bloom.

Besides being a co-creator and star of the show, Bloom has also produced, written, and is a song writer. “My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” earned Bloom a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.

The fourth and final season will begin with Rebecca, accused of attempted murder, looking for redemption.

What can fans expect?

“I am sure there are going to be a lot of memorable moments since it’s the final season. I think it’s kind of a summary – it’s the end of the essay,” she said.

The fourth season of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” will premier Friday night at 9 p.m., on The CW San Diego.
