SAN DIEGO - On Saturday, September 29 from  10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Lincoln High School (4777 Imperial Ave, San Diego, CA 92113), local nonprofit leaders, clergy members, police officers and firefighters will compete in a basketball tournament to raise money for lowering youth disconnection and creating opportunities for young adults in San Diego. 

Hosted by San Diego Workforce Partnership, RISE San Diego and Connecting Hope, the inaugural Hoops4Hope event aims to build community between Southeast San Diego residents and local organizations, as well as fundraiser for the Connecting Hope employment social enterprise. 

Hoops4Hope plans accomplish the following goals:

  • Build community between residents and young adults of Southeastern San Diego, faith-based groups, public safety, public education and public employment leaders
  • Celebrate the rich athletic and arts culture and history of Southeastern San Diego
  • Raise $10,000 to support the Connecting Hope employment social enterprise

Hoops4Hope is part of the Opportunity San Diego initiative focused on lowering youth disconnection and creating opportunities for young adults in San Diego County.

All proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorship will go directly to CONNECTING Hope.

This event is part of the #OpportunitySD initiative in partnership with the San Diego Workforce Partnership, is focused on lowering youth disconnection, and creating opportunities for young adults in San Diego County.
