Discover Your Wonderfront: Tom Ham’s Lighthouse

Harbor island offers a wide range of dining options, 17 restaurants in all, with some of the best bay and skyline views around. One of the most iconic waterfront restaurants is Tom Ham’s Lighthouse. It’s been a fixture and go-to seafood spot for San Diegans since 1971. A fully functioning lighthouse, known as Beacon #9 on USCG Nautical Maps, it is an architectural landmark. The Gold Medallion Award winning restaurant is known for its sweeping vistas, scrumptious seafood, wide selection of craft beers, sunset Happy Hour and Champagne Sunday Brunch. It’s the perfect spot to sit back, enjoy a cocktail and dine with a view.

The entire Tom Ham’s Lighthouse building sits over the San Diego Bay, which allows views from every space. Visitors will enjoy spectacular views of the Coronado Bridge and San Diego skyline from Tom Ham’s new outdoor elevated patio that hovers over the water, allowing diners to feel like they are on a cruise ship. The restaurant’s newest addition, their event space for weddings and banquets, can accommodate up to 230 guests and offers a unique and picturesque backdrop of the San Diego Bay for ceremonies and pictures.

Tom Ham’s is situated on the Eastern end of Harbor Island with plenty of free parking. Continuing a San Diego legacy, today the restaurant is run by a third generation of Hams, Tom Ham’s grandsons, who continue the tradition of fine dining and exceptional service. Stop by for a cocktail and bite and stay for the view.
