Smoke from fire burning in Mexico visible in San Diego

OTAY MESA (NEWS 8) - A large plume of smoke from a fire burning in Mexico was visible in several parts of San Diego County as of Wednesday. 

The fire is reportedly burning in a canyon near Otay Mountain near the entrance to a toll road to Tecate. 

Firefighters in Mexico were working to contain it. A Cal Fire crew is monitoring the situation from the U.S. side of the border.

    Bikes, scooters and any self-powered mode of transport took over the streets of Ocean Beach Sunday. To encourage everyone to slow down and get to know their community, a three-mile stretch was closed to cars with most of the car-free area on Bacon Street.
