SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - He's a 10-year-old boy who would love to play football, go for bike rides, watch movies and play video games with a family.
His wishes are simple: to have a life many kids his age take for granted. Kenneth says he prays he'll get to move out of his group home soon and into a forever home.
Kenneth is a soft spoken, easy going 5th grader who is doing 6th grade level math. His social worker says he has tested into GATE, which is the Gifted and Talented Education Program at his school. He told me he likes math and health and science.
But what Ken is missing in his life is forever family to be proud of all of his accomplishments. He says it is “pretty difficult” living in a group home. He has an early bedtime of 7:30 a.m. and says to pass the time before falling asleep, he often prays that he'll find a forever home.
“I usually pray, maybe once a week or every night and I usually pray for a family to adopt me and get out of the group home,” said Ken.
A family, he won't ever have to leave.
“I would always love them and stay with them,” he added.
Ken is tired of moving around in the foster care system where friends come and go.
“I keep on losing friends and gaining them once I move a lot,” Ken continued.
In an effort to help find Ken a forever family, he will be featured in the 2017 Join the Team Calendar, featuring Chargers players and Adopt 8 kids.
